About

I started this blog in the spring of 2015 to document my and Adrian’s 4-month, plan-free hitch hiking trip across the United States and Canada. The quick version of the story is that we got 214 rides, travelled 20447 kilometres, ate 17.4289 kilograms of trail mix, and took 13 showers. The medium version is within the archives of this blog, and the long version stays (at least for now) in our memories and the stories we tell to people we meet.

What I naively never saw coming when I wrote the first version of this page was that my life was about to change, not only for 4 months, but forever. After that little taste of life on the road, it’s become clear to me that I’m going to be travelling for quite a while. And so, this blog continues. Who knows where I’ll end up?

  1. It was so nice to meet you in Grants Pass Oregon. I enjoyed our talk while driving to Jacksonville and have wondered how you both are doing? Did you get your wish?
Hope you are having the time of your lives. I’m jealous!
    Peace, Chris

    • Hi Chris! It’s so great to hear from you!
We did not get our wish, unfortunately. We’re settled nearby in Applegate, looking for work at the moment. It’s a bit slow on the adventure front these days, but we’re sure it’ll pick up again.
